The goal of each race, and parkour is no exception, is to reach the finish line. The method, the time taken, and how you get there are secondary; this adventure ends only when you cross the finish line. How you do it and in which mode is up to you. 

For example, in race mode, you can compete with other athletes, overcoming obstacles at high speed. Quest mode offers not only a race but also solving various puzzles that appear on the way to the finish. Multiplayer mode sends you racing with real opponents, and their number can be quite large. If you want to create your own track, that's not a problem either; switch to builder mode and start creating.
